Rita Dianna McGuffey Carrigan, 52 years of age, of Eubank, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Rita was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on February 24, 1956, daughter of the late William and Ruth Gorley McGuffey. She was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky, where she served as the Director of the Children's Program. Rita was a current employee of American Greeting in Danville, Kentucky for 35 years.
Rita was survived by her husband, David Carrigan whom she married on April 30, 1983 in Lincoln County, Kentucky; two sons, Brian Carrigan (and fiancée, Laura McQueary) of Eubank, Kentucky and Chris & Kelly Carrigan of Science Hill, Kentucky; and three brothers, Randy & Judy McGuffey of Waynesburg, Kentucky, Terry McGuffey of Waynesburg, Kentucky and Roger & Kelly McGuffey of North Carolina.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitations were held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Marty Shadoan and Bro. Don Jones officiating.
