Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 24 from Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Durant for Mrs. Annie McGriff Aldy, 88, of Sallis. Rev. R.C. Gray officiated with internment in Sallis Cemetery at Sallis.
Mrs. Aldy, a native of Leake County and widow of the late Walter C. Aldy, died Saturday, August 23 at the Attala County Nursing Home in Kosciusko. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Congregational Methodist Church near Sallis.
Her survivors were: three sons, Henry C. Aldy of Durant, George Frank Aldy of Sallis and Aubrey D. Aldy of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Burrell of Sallis; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Burrell, Herbert Farmer, Ernie Easterling, Jack Ables, Carl Corley, John Burrell and Simmie Burrell.
