Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday November 26, 1990 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Fonda, with Rev. Edward Murray, Rev. Paul Kelly, grandson of the deceased, and Rev Robert W . Phillips officiating. Burial is in Mount Zion Cemetery, Fonda. Mahaney Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Obituary - Margaret McGrath was born October 18, 1891 in Chicago, IL. She received her education from Fonda Community Schools. After graduation, she attended normal school in Pocahontas and received her teaching certificate there. She taught in a one room rural school in Iowa for several years.

She married Martin Lilly in 1923 at Fonda. After her husband's death, she moved to Nebraska in 1977 to live with her daughters. She entered Heartstone Nursing Home, York, NE. in 1982. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and of the Legion of Mary.

Survivors include daughters: Harriet Green, Springfield, NE; Eleanor Weiler, York, NE; and Catherine Kelly, Sioux Rapids; son, Thomas Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great -grandchildren.
