Born on October 1, 1927 in Stratford, CT, Gladys was the oldest dauhter of Mickey and Alpha (Perry) McGrath.
She graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo, CO and later went on to attend college.
On December 31, 1946, Gladys married Paul F. Brooks in Pueblo, CO.
Gladys was a loving homemaker and retired banker. She held memberships in the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, the McIntosh, SD Presbyterian Church, Protestant Women of the Chapel "U.S. Army", and Elk Plain Community Church in Spanaway, WA.
Gladys was a people person. Her hobbies were never flowers or crafts or cooking. Instead, she found delight in serving others. Her greatest joy was helping another to see God's love through the life-changing message of the
Savior.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Floria Catt; and siblings, George, Christy, Bud, Shirley and Edd.
Gladys' memory will live on with her loving husband of 67 years, Paul; sons, Thomas and Ricki of WA; daughter, Barbara of GA; brothers Charles McGrath of OK and John McGrath of TX; sister, Peggy Collins of OK; and numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private interment was held at Tahoma National Cemetery. Public Memorial Service was held at Elk Plain Community Church in Spanaway, WA at 4pm, Saturday, February 1. Memorial donations can be made to Jesus and Jessie
