Isaac F. "Ike" McGlothlin

Born October 16, 1924 Died September 16, 2012

Isaac Franklin McGlothlin, 87, of Bristol, TN, died on Sunday September 16, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

He was a son of the late Harvey Paul McGlothlin and Inez Bond.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce White; brothers, Bill McGlothlin, J.C. McGlothlin and Kermit McGlothlin.

Native of Mullens, WV, Ike lived in Bristol since 1962. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was a food broker and the owner of Tri-State Brokerage Company. He was co-owner of C.I.M. Brokerage in Knoxville. He was also a member of South Bristol United Methodist Church.

Isaac is survived by his loving spouse of 65 years, Charlene R. Dowell McGlothlin; daughters, Cathy Smith and husband, Jim, of Bristol, TN, Connie Blevins Sciora and husband, Jeff, of Bristol, TN; brother, Ronnie McGlothlin and wife, Linda, of Winston Salem, NC; sister, Shirley Shorts and husband, Jim, of Beckley, WV; grandsons, Lynn Blevins, Aaron Blevins, Eric Smith and wife Lindy, Justin Blevins and wife Lori, and Scott Smith and wife Sue; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Russell Blevins, Cole and Piper Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 17, 2012 from 6 pm until 9 pm at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.

The committal service and interment will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol, TN with Dr. Charles Ledger officiating.

Those who wish can meet at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home at 1 pm to follow in procession with the family to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mr. McGlothin's son-in-laws and grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Bristol United Methodist Church, 1801 Southside Avenue Bristol, TN 37620.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wellmont Hospice, Dr. Fred Greear; caregivers, Patsy Gobble, Sherrie Thomas, and Daphine Alexander.
