MRS. EDNA M. DYE
Mrs. Edna M. Dye, age 71, wife of William M. Dye, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Virgie Horton, in the Brickyard section, Saturday afternoon, August 22nd, following a lingering illness. Death was attributed to complications.
Mrs. dye was born in Richlands, the daughter of the late David W. and Caroline Kendrick McGlothlin. She was educated in the Richlands schools and has resided in this community her entire life.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Horton, Mrs. Daisey Davis, both of Richlands, four sons, William D., Graham, Hugh, all of Richlands, and Clarence of Gate City. She is also survived by one brother, William F. McGlothlin of Bluefield, Va., and two sisters, Mrs. C. M. Horton of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. P.S. Belcher of Lewisburg, N.C.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in the Layman's Chapel with the Rev. C.E. Wilson in charge of the service assisted by Rev. Nelson Barker. Interment was in the Hankins Cemetery. The body was removed from the Farmer Funeral Home to the residence of the deceased on Sunday morning. Pallbearers and flower bearers were grandsons and granddaughters of the deceased.
