Funeral services for James Franklin McGlaun, who died at the home of a son, Harvey McGlaun near Mabank Monday, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the West Athens Baptist Church.

The services were conducted by the Rev. L.V. Edwards, Baptist minister of Athens. Burial was in the City cemetery.

Mr. McGlaun was born on November 9, 1878, in Robertson county and was married to Miss Pearl Speer in 1911 near Athens.

Surviving are six children, Harvey, Robert, Melvin, and Derwood McGlaun and Mrs. Winnie J. Tarleton; five brothers, Jess, Mack and Will of Athens, Joe of Kaufman and Umphrey of Mabank; one sister, Mrs. Epsie Organbright of Houston, and four grandchildren. One son, Newman, preceded him in death in 1931. Melvin and Derwood are in the Armed Service and are stationed in England and the Hawaiian Islands.

Mr. McGlaun was a member of the Methodist Church in early life, but joined the Baptist Church at Mill Run about four years ago. He was baptized by Rev. Edwards.

He had lived in this community until about two years ago, when he moved to Mabank.
