Evelyn was a life-ling resident of [the] Washington DC metropolitan area. She was the beloved wife of the late Maurice H Lanman, Jr. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy and Columbia Law School, both in Washington. She was a member of Holy Redeemer parish in Kensington. Evelyn devoted her life to the nurture and support of her family. Her unwavering Catholic values and selfless dedication served as an unshakable foundation and radiant example for her children and grandchildren. Her love was inclusive and extended readily to spouses and friends of family members. Her legacy is the strong bond of love and mutual caring that upderpin the relationshhips among her descendants and friends.
She is survived by her devoted eight children [two daughters, six sons]; brothers, Francis B McGivern and Raymond H McGivern [both now deceased]; 26 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation was at Collins Funeral Home, Silver Spring MD, on Friday, December 10. Mass of Christian Burial was at Holy Redemeemer Church, Kensington MD on Saturday, December 11, followed by interment.
