*First marriage to Clifford Agustus Odom

Swannanoa - Alma McGee Odom Branch, 96, of Swannanoa, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 1, 2009.

Born to the late Zeb and Matilda McGee on March 14, 1913 in McDowell County, she spent all of her adult life as a resident of Buncombe County and a Charter Member of the Black Mountain Church of God.

She worked many of her early years with the Black Mountain Hosiery Mill and Kearfott Corporation before going to school at A-B Tech to become a CNA, working for Highland Farms, Stroup's and Pisgah Manor Nursing Homes. She very much enjoyed working with the elderly.

Mrs. Branch is preceded in death by two sons, James C. Odom and Braska A. Odom and wife, Shirley M. Odom and son-in-law, Carroll Marler.

She is survived by her daughter, Delores O. Marler; son, Gary Odom and wife, Linda; daughter-in-law, Margie Odom; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p . m. Friday in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
