Russell McFadden, son of James E. McFadden and Margaret S. Thomas McFadden, was born September 19, 1900, in Netawalka, Kansas, and departed this life on March 9, 1969, in the Phillips County Hospital at the age of 68 years, 5 months, and 20 days.
He spent his early years in Kirwin, Kansas.
In 1921 he was united in marriage to Iola Christensen. To this union one daughter, Florence Mabel, was born.
Russell spent all his married life in Kirwin, Kansas. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Kirwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers, Alfred, Edward, and Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife, Iola, of the home in Kirwin; one daughter, Florence Mabel and her husband Thaine Crown of Imperial, Nebraska; a sister, Mabel Chaddock of Phillipsburg; a brother, Gareth of Goodland, Kansas; and 5 grandchildren, June Hoover of Phillipsburg and Thaine Jr., Jimmy, Judy and Jennifer Crown all of Imperial, Nebraska.
Russ will long be remembered for his many kindnesses and thoughtfulness shown his many friends.
Memorial services were held at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lynn Evans and Rev. J. C. Daniel in charge. Casket bearers were James Hagman, Willard Johnson, Wayne Anderson, Frank Burrows, James Stockman and Alfred Stackhouse. Interment was made in the Kirwin Cemetery.
