Virginia McDowell Cousins, 89, of the 500 block of Boissevain Ave., went to her eternal rest Dec. 5, 1999, in a Norfolk hospital. Born in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the widow of Cecil C. Cousins. Mrs. Cousins' life revolved around her family and her love of her church. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, and was very active in the home visitation of the sick and elderly of the church. Survivors include two sisters, Betty Berman of Norfolk and Rosa Slayton of Ringgold, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Norfolk by the Rev. Dick Baker. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home for visitation today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Norfolk.
