MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - Services for Amy R. Cooksey, 93, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Weir Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant.
Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport.
Visitation is noon to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family present 7-8:30 p.m.
Mrs. Cooksey died Tuesday at Park Place Care Center, Mount Pleasant.
She taught school four years at Alpha and Woodhull, Ill.
Amy McDowell married Walter Cooksey in 1923 in Macomb, Ill. He died in 1974.
She graduated in 1924 from Normal (Ill.) University.
Mrs. Cooksey was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wapello; American Legion Auxiliary, Winfield; and New London Country Club.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Survivors include daughters, Maxine (Mrs. Anthony) Mohler, Morning Sun, Helen (Mrs. Norman) Deehardt, Winfield, and Rose White, West Burlington; a son, Walter J., Graysville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooksey also was preceded in death by a son, George A.
