2nd wife of James Calhoun Alexander. She was murdered by Thomas Bugg who was found to be insane and sent to the asylum at Hopkinsville.
In Memory - Mrs. Nealy Alexander, wife of J. C. Alexander, was born and raised in this county all her life. She was a sister of Josh, Bird and Bethel McDonald, a sister to Mrs. Bud James, Mrs. Edgar Cruce, Mrs. Edd Cruce, and Mrs. John Paris of Washington.
She professed faith in Christ when a child, and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Piney Fork. She was a sacrificing mother and a good neighbor.
She was a person of few words, a hard working honest conscientious woman, true to her convictions. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. T. Oakley, in the presence of a large audience.
She leave six children to mourn her los. They are: Will, Mrs. Flora Guess, Mrs. Essie Thurman, Cecil, Virgil and Ercel, and a number of grandchildren, relatives and friends. The interment was at Piney Fork Cemetery. The floral offerings were beautiful. Thus ends the life of a good woman.
