Ann M. Ashton, 75, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012, after a brief illness.
Ann was born Annie Louise McDonald in Hoboken, Ga., on Sept. 30, 1936. She moved to Jacksonville where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She spent time in Keystone Heights before moving to St. Augustine.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde L. Ashton; her son, Steven L. (Roberta) Ashton; one grandson, Justin M. Ashton; two great-grandsons; siblings, Arie (Bill) Willis, Ethel (Dick) Barnes, Gertrude (Kellam) Shepard; sister-in-law, Myrtle (Dwight) McGee and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Donald Ashton, and siblings, Sue Woods, Marion Griffin, Bera Griffin, Owen McDonald.
Ann was a parishioner of the Cathedral Basilica and a member of the Elkettes at the St. Augustine Elks Lodge #829.
Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home followed by burial at Arlington Memorial Park in Jacksonville at noon.
