WILLIAM ROY 'BILLY' McDONALD
Funeral services for William Roy McDonald, 86, of Jonesboro will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 2 pm at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Clyde W. Averitt and Rev. Wayne Howington officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Mr. McDonald died Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Jackson Parish Hospital. He was a retired banker. He was born July 25, 1916 in Jonesboro, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and the LSU School of Banking of the South. He served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. "Mr. Billy" was a former officer and director of the Jackson Parish Bank where he was employed for fifty-five (55) years.
He was a member of the Jonesboro United Methodist Church. He previously served on the Jackson Parish Library Board, was a member of the Louisiana Bankers Association and was active in other civic and community organizations through the years. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and was co-owner of McDonald Farms. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Advance Country Club of Hodge, La.
