Dr. McDill, resident physician at Lima State hospital since 1950,was reported to have been in ill health for some time but not seriously ill until Thursday when he was taken to the hospital.
Dr. McDill came to Coshocton from Duncan Falls and practiced medicine here for several years. He was named city health commissioner in 1942 and resigned in 1946 to accept a post of commissioner of the Wooster General Health District, which includes most of Wayne county. From there he went to Lima.
Born in Indiana June 1, 1894, he was a son of Rev. Samuel and Sally Shannon McDill, he spent much of his early life in Cambridge. He taught in the Cambridge school before he began to practice medicine.
Dr. McDill was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge at Cambridge. He was a member of Nu Sigma Mu Medical Fraternity. He was a veteran of WW I.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel G. Heaton; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Buck, of Finleyville, Pa., and Miss Edna McDill of Cambridge.
Services in the Glass Funeral Home will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Harold Kaser officiating.Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.
