"Elda Fae McDaniel Atchley was born September 4, 1930, in the Oxien Community of Runnels County, Texas, the daughter of the late David Dewey McDaniel and the late Polly Elizabeth Morrison McDaniel. She grew up on the family farm until she graduated from high school at Talpa and Crews schools. She moved to Abilene to go to school and work at the old Timex company. On October 1, 1955 she married the late Russell Aubrey Atchley. They moved to Ector County in 1955 and then they moved and lived in Andrews from 1956 to 1992. She work at the Andrews Hospital, then at the Andrews Medical Clinic as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1992, at which time she and Russell moved to Novice. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Novice.
"Survivors include one son Russell Eugene Atchley of Novice; one daughter, Carolyn Fae Atchley of Lubbock; two brothers and sister-in-law, R. C. and Betty Atchley of Coleman, Texas and Wayne and Janice Atchley of Abilene, Texas; a granddaughter, Stephanie Atchley of Oklahoma City and a granddaughter, grandson-in-law and great-grandson, Megan and Kevin Hall and son Landon Hall of Broken Arrow.
"There will also be a public viewing in Coleman at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m on Friday August 8, 2014 at Stevens Funeral Home in Colman and a Memorial Meet and Greet Service for Family, Friends and Friends of the Family in Lubbock at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at the Southcrest Baptist Church Parlor, 3801 South Loop 289, Lubbock."
