Geo. I. Cross Married Yesterday

Davis citizens got another pleasant surprise yesterday when they learned of the marriage of Mr. Geo. I. Cross and Mrs. Clara Mullins. The wedding took place at Gainesville, Texas, yesterday and the couple returned to Davis last evening and will make their home here.

The bride lived here several years ago and for some time has been living in Texas. She is an estimable lady and her many friends here are pleased that she will again make her home in Davis.

Mr. Cross is a well known and successful contractor and has lived here a long time. His host of friends congratulate him on his happy marriage.

CLARA JANE CROSS

Funeral services for Clara Jane Cross, 90, Davis, were April 14 at Fox Funeral Chapel with Brother Dennis Long officiating. Interment was at Green Hill Cemetery with Fox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cross was born December 24, 1903 at Ione, Arkansas and died April 12 at Burford Manor, Davis. Her parents were Henry and Lula (Bloodworth) McDaniel. She had lived in Davis most of her life. She had been a cook for Davis Public Schools and was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Georgia Mobley, of Sulphur; a son, Joe Lee Cross, of Davis; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Cross; two daughters, Lola Fay Gordon and Juanita Powell; her parents; three sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Bill Mobley, Larry Powell, David, Webb, Tom Drake, Joe Tom Drake and Joe Tom Ayers.
