Obituary of Ruth McDaniel, Marshall (IL) Herald, 8 March 1911.

Ruth McDaniel was born in Parke County, Indiana, October 28, 1846. When one year old she came with her parents to Orange Township, this county, where she had lived ever since. January 1, 1867, she was married to Thomas M. Cooper. To them were born eight children. She died February 28, 1911, survived by her husband and five children---Charles E. and Daniel T. Cooper, Mary Tyhurst, Adda Maring and Bertha Calvert. In 1867 she united with the M.E. Church at Wesley Chapel, afterward uniting with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Willow Creek, of which she remained a faithful member until death. The church will miss her, for she was ever ready to help in any kind of church work. Her long sickness she endured with Christian fortitude. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T. C. Bailiff and Rev. Daniel Lingafelter; interment in Willow Creek Cemetery, March 2.
