Funeral services for Albert Goldman McDaniel, Jr., 40, of Hulbert, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Mallett Chapel with Reverend Nathan Malone officiating.
Born July 2, 1932, Mr. McDaniel had been a resident of Wagoner most of his life. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Mr. McDaniel had been an employee with the Lake Region Rural electric Co-operative for 21 years. He was electrocuted Friday morning, September 1, 1972, in an accident near Lock and Dam No. 18 on the Arkansas River Navigation channel near Inola. He and a co-worker had been sent to that area to locate the cause of trouble users in that area had been having.
He is survived by his wife, Berna Dene McDaniel of the home; one son, Gary of Wagoner; and a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Jean Simmons of Muskogee; two brothers, Ralph McDaniel and Allen McDaniel, both of California; four sisters, Mrs. Jewel Owens of Fontana, California; Mrs. Drusilla Gregg of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Alma Isham of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Otalie Peters of Wagoner.
Interment was in Pioneer Cemetery directed by Mallett Funeral Home. Pallbearers included Fred Year, Ray Ferguson, Bill Cleland, Larry Buford, Virgil Nottingham, and Louis Watkins. Honorary bearers included employees of Lake Region Rural Electric Co-Operative.
