Elizabeth "Bette" Butler, 91, Elizabeth "Bette" Butler, 91, peacefully passed away on January 24, 2013 at Lima Estates, just four days shy of her 92nd birthday. She was born to George and Edna McCullough and was a graduate of Media High School. Bette was a devout member of the Packard Memorial Church.
She was also a member of the Writer's Club of Delaware County, most notably creating the autobiography, "Lest I Forget." She also enjoyed photography and oil painting; but found most joy spending time with her family. Bette married her soul mate, William (Bill) H. Butler Jr. at Stoneybank Community Church in Glen Mills, PA in 1945.
They enjoyed a blessed life with their four children, Sue, Ken, Carol, and Bill. Widowed in 1994, and predeceased by her son, Kenneth Butler in 2010, Bette continued to spread joy and love to those around her. We are so grateful for the wonderful times we have spent with her. Survivors: 3 children, Suzanne E. (Sue) Smith, William H. (Bill) Butler III, and Carol A. Joseph-Wagner and 4 grandchildren, Richard Joseph, Matthew Joseph, Sara Joseph and Alexander Butler.
Services: Her life will be celebrated on Friday, February 1st with a funeral service, 11AM, in the J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, 1 W. Baltimore Ave. Media, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 10 to 11AM. Interment: following the service at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA. Online condolences: www.jnelsonrigbyfh.com
