The death of Mrs. W. R. McCullough, which occurred on Saturday last at the residence of her uncle, Mr. A. M. Nelson, at Longwood was very sad, and a terrible shock to her husband and relatives. Mrs. McCullough was taken suddenly ill with congestion of the brain the evening before.
Mrs McCullough, born Amanda Augusta Mary Nelson, came from Aby, Molunda, Sweden, with her parents, in 1887, when a small child, both of whom died in our parish a few years ago, and since their death lived with her uncle, Mr. A. M. Nelson, one of our best citizens.
It has been only a little over a year since she was married to Mr. McCullough, and her death is a sad, sad blow to her devoted and affectionate husband. He has the sincere sympathy of our entire community in his bereavement. (Submitted by Ginga Hathaway)
