Willie Ector (McCullar) Brewington went to be with our Lord and savior on Saturday, June 14, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Kelham Baptist Church, 3400 N. Meridian, Oklahoma City. Viewing will be held before the service. She will be laid to rest at Lightning Ridge Cemetery near Vanoss. Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater is in charge of arrangements.Willie was born March 4, 1920 to William Edward (Bill) McCullar and Jenny Ector (Weir) McCullar in Vanoss. She graduated from Vanoss High School. Willie held various jobs including working for the Vanoss School System and the local tag agency until purchasing a hamburger shop across from the school. She operated the hamburger shop until she met her husband, Eugene (Gene) H. Brewington. The couple married and moved to Oklahoma City, where Gene was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. Willie began a home day care. She developed long lasting friendships with the children and their wonderful parents. Willie was a member of Kelham Baptist Church in Oklahoma City for more than 60 years. She served as the nursery coordinator and was an active member until the death of her husband, Gene in 2001. Willie then moved to Stillwater to be near her son and his family.Willie was a charter member of the Prairie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Oklahoma City Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy."Grandma B," as she was known by her grandchildren, was a great example of a strong spiritual leader. She was a very giving, loving, understanding, caring, forgiving woman. She lived life to the fullest and was ready and willing to help anyone anytime and anywhere. Grandma B was very proud and supportive of her grandchildren and especially her "Great" grandchildren. Grandma B left us with many happy memories.Willie was preceded in death by her husband Eugene H. Brewington, her parents, her brother Auti McCullar and her sister Amazoo Hopkins as well as her brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts and uncles.Willie is survived by her son Caston (Cass) Christian and his wife Joyce of Stillwater, her daughter Cherri Shelnutt and her husband Bill of Copperas Cove, Texas. Seven grandchildren, Lynn Christian Breaux and her husband Terry "T. Joe" of Georgetown, Texas, Matt Christian and his wife Melanie of Jenks, Lori Christian of Stillwater, Cade Christian of Oklahoma City, Brad Shelnutt of Plano, Texas, Jason Leonard and his wife Michelle of Frisco, Texas and Tim Leonard and his wife Elizabeth of Richardson, Texas. Seven great-grandchildren, Garrett Christian of Stillwater, Dillon, Cassidy and Calli Breaux of Georgetown, Dakota and Jude Christian of Jenks, and Maya Leonard of Frisco. Willie is also survived by many extended family members and all her friends at Kelham Baptist Church and Alterra Sterling House of Stillwater.Willie's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her great-grandchildren
