Dr. John Jack J. McCue, age 84, entered into eternal life on April 21, 2010 while in St. Petersburg, FL. Jack lived a life of joyful devotion to his family, his Church and his community. Born and raised in Braintree, he attended Braintree HS. After serving in WWII and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge at age 17, Jack graduated with honors from The College of the Holy Cross in 1950. He received his medical degree from St. Louis University and was a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Jack was the beloved husband of 58 years to Doris (Toohey), adored son of the late James and Miriam McCue and devoted brother of M. Joyce McCue. Jack was as proud of his 10 children; Joyce, Michael, Mark, Francis, Mary, Sean, Anne, Catherine, PJ and Regina, as they were of him. Jack, with his quick wit and playful spirit, loved the time he spent with his children, their spouses, his grandchildren and recently welcomed his first great grandchild to the clan. He touched countless lives as a greatly respected Pediatrician in Weymouth for 37 years and was on staff at Boston Floating, St. Margarets, South Shore, and Carney Hospitals. He was a devoted Eucharistic Minister and Lector at both Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth and St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Falmouth. Funeral from Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St, Weymouth on Saturday, May 15 at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30. Burial to follow at St. Pauls Cemetery in Hingham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial visiting hours on Friday, May 14 from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Mary's Women and Childrens Center, 90 Cushing Ave., Dorchester, MA 02125.
