HODGENVILLE -- Katherine Lois Bale, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was the former Katherine McCubbin, born to the late Lonnie and Mona Phelps McCubbin. She was a homemaker and the oldest living lifetime member of Nolynn Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Bale, daughter, Lois Lee Murray, and a brother, Alvis "Lefty" McCubbin. She is survived by her son, Larry G. Bale of Louisville; four grandchildren, Kathie Jones of Urbana, MD, Lesa Towe of Louisville, Anne Holland Braden of Raceland, KY, and Beth Bale of Durham, NC; four great-grand-children, Keri Potter of Jacksonville, NC, Tyler Jones of Alexandria, VA, and Abbey and Sarah Braden, both of Raceland; and niece, Mona Katherine McCubbin of Louisville. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004, at Billy Howell Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Dan Flanagan, with burial to follow in Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Nolynn Baptist Church.
