She was born in Portland and graduated from Stayton High School.
She earned a master's degree from the University of Oregon and taught at Kennedy High School in Mount Angel for 16 years. She then taught at Chemeketa Community College for 14 years.
She enjoyed computers, camping and reading.
Survivors include her brothers, Benny McCready of Lebanon and Bill McCready of Scio; and sisters, Carolee Bay of Salem, Suzy Bates of Kirkland, Wash., and Gloria Rodgers of Springfield.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Silverton United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Interment will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Lebanon IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements are by Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton.
