Services for Ruth Eleanor Swift McCoy, 73, of Dallas will be 2 p.m. today in the First Christian Church of Palestine with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in New Addition Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mrs. McCoy died in Irving Saturday morning.
She was born in Palestine on February 11, 1915, a daughter of Judge E.V. and Rena Eagan Swift. She was a graduate of Palestine High School and the University of Texas at Austin.
She retired from teaching in the Dallas school district in 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Young McCoy.
Mrs. McCoy was a founding member of the Valleyview Christian Church of Dallas.
Survivors include her daughter, Molly Eagan McCoy of Houston; son, Monte McCoy of Dallas; sister, Elizabeth Swift Brown of Dallas; brothers, Edward Swift of Marble Falls, LeRoy Swift of Woodville and Ernest Swift of Palestine, and one grandchild.
