Claud McCormick,the son of William Anderson McCormick and Eliza Ellen Harlow, was born in Colbert Co., Alabama. He married Elsie Naomi Moore in 1917. They lived in Lawrence Co., Alabama after their marriage and then moved just across the Morgan County line north of Danville. They moved to Neel in the 1930's.
He was a farmer, who grew mostly corn and cotton, but also raised sugar cane and made sorghum syrup at his syrup mill for his family's use and also to sell to the public.
Claud died of tuberculosis at the age of 52 at his home in Neel.
