Veteran Standard Oil Company salesman Dead - Charles H. McCormick, for many years city salesman for the Standard Oil Company, died Friday at his home, 1436 Woodlawn avenue. He was born Dec. 21, 1844, at Cincinnati, O. When he was 17 years old he enlisted in the Fifth Indiana Cavalry, and served for three years and three months. After his discharge he returned to a farm near Cincinnati, where he worked for several years. From the country he went to Cincinnati and engaged in the oil business in that city and along the Ohio River. He came to Indianapolis June 12, 1877, and was employed by the Standard Oil Company. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary E. McCormick, and two sons, Frank McCormick of this city and George McCormick of Marion, Ind. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Because of Illness in the family the services and burial will be private. Friends may view the body this afternoon from 2 until 6 o'clock.
