Curt died on Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, from injuries sustained in a motor-vehicle accident in rural Rock Island County.

Curt was born on Jan. 16, 1946, in Galesburg, the son of Everett E. and Lois (Taylor) McCormick. He was a graduate of Rockridge High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Curt had been with Muscatine Farm Equipment since 1989. He had also been employed for 14 years with John Deere Plow and Planter Works and Case Power and Equipment of Aledo. Curt was also a volunteer for the Reiser-Trimble Ambulance Service for many years. He also attended Aledo United Methodist Church, and he had spent a very special time on the Walk to Emmaus.

He was an avid collector of John Deere tractors, farm caps, and many other things, including friendships; he never knew a stranger. As Curt gave to others in life, he continues to do so after death by donating tissue.

Curt is survived by his daughters, Kristin and Teresa McCormick, both of Macomb, Ill.; his mother, Lois McCormick of Aledo; his sister, Janet McCormick of Eagan, Minn.; a nephew, Christopher Eckhardt of Eagan; and his very best friend, Jean Kiddoo of Aledo.
