Sarah J. (McConnell) Cherry was the daughter of James and Sarah (Windle) McConnell. She was the only known child of her parents. Her mother died when she was very young and her father remarried in 1849 to Mary Polly Ratliff. They had 5 children.
On September 18, 1870, at the age of 22, Sarah married Wesley Jordan Cherry. He was a widower with 3 children: George O. Cherry 1857-1930, Robert E. Cherry 1859-1928 and James W. Cherry 1864-
Sarah and Wesley Jordan Cherry had the following children:
1) William Wesley Cherry 1872-1930
2) C. Cherry 1872-
3) Alma Cherry 1879-
4) Elmore Cherry 1885-
They farmed in Independence and Walnut Creek Townships of Macon County, Missouri.
Wesley Jordan died in 1903 and Sarah in 1914. Both are buried at Hull Cemetery.
