West Point – Annie Laura Arick, 79, passed away Jan. 28, 1997 at the Clay County Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 29 at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with Rev. Tim Loden and Rev. Stan Adams officiating. Burial followed at Pheba Cemetery in the Pheba Community.
Arick, the widow of Hershel Everett Arick, was the daughter of Albert and Ida Morris McCluskey. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Gale Arick and Helen Arick Canterbury; a grandson, Allen Norris; a sister, Maggie Ester and brothers Frank and Bob McCluskey. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church of West Point.
She is survived by seven daughters, Inez Longley of Big Creek, Anne Earnest of Cumberland, Bessie Roberson of Maben, Laura Morgan of Starkville, Maggie Butler of Mantee, Barbara Armstrong of West Point and Lisa Littrell of Starkville; two sons, Joe Arick of West Point and Mike Arick of Starkville; 23 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; and one brother, Charlie McCluskey of Mathiston.
Pallbearers were all her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers included Dr. Edmund Miller Jr. and the staff of Clay County Medical Center and the Swing Bed Staff along with the staff of Tombigbee Home Health Care.
