Mr. McCleskey was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Patillo to Joseph Benson McCleskey and Eva Lee McPherson McCleskey. He attended Tarleton State University. He served in the U.S. Army and was a toolmaker for Voight Aircraft. He was a member of Patillo Baptist Church. Mr. McCleskey was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Morgan Mill and had served for 50 years Harmony Lodge 592.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J.B. McCleskey and Dale Milton McCleskey; and grandson, James McCleskey.
Survivors: Sons, Ricky Don McCleskey, Barry Lynn McCleskey and wife, Jana; daughter, Vanessa Gail Roden and husband, Ray; brothers, Wendell McCleskey, Kenneth McCleskey, George McCleskey; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
