ODESSA Romia I. "Granny" Burleson, 78, a longtime resident of Odessa, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, at her residence surrounded by family and friends.She was born February 8, 1935, in Amber, Oklahoma. She married J.C. Burleson on November 20, 1952, in Lovington, New Mexico. She was a woman of crafts. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and mastery of Southern style cooking. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, J.C.; her parents, Ed and Ethel McClain; three brothers; two sisters; son-in-law, Johnny Clark; grandson, James Paul Brunner; and granddaughter, Vanessa Burleson. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be her eleven grandsons.
