He moved to Hendricks County, Indiana in 1907.
He was an employee of Pennsylvania Railroad.
He enlisted 5/12/1917 at Indianapolis, Indiana
He was sent to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri where he was assigned to the 16th Infantry, 1st Division.
He embarked overseas June 14, 1917.
He fought in the Battle of Cantigny and was killed in action July 22, 1918 in Soissons, France. According to the Gold Star book, he was buried near where he fell (Paris and Soissons Road).
