McCaw was a major stockholder in radio and tv stations. He sold the New York Radio Station WINS in 1962 to Westinghouse for a reported $10,000,000. He served as president of Gotham Broadcasting and was a former board chairman of Manhattan Cablevision Service and president of radio station KIXI in Seattle. In addition, McCaw was once president of the Washington State Association of Broadcasters and owner of the Seattle Hockey Team.
McCaw also owned KTVW, Channel 13 in Tacoma and several cable television companies in Washington.
