Mildred I Bassett, 94 Alexandria, died Monday, Nov. 17 at the Willows Nursing Homes Alexandria, following an extended Illness.
Mildred was born on May 31, 1909, Elwood, to James and Leslie (Prather) McCarty. On November 18, 1934, she married Rosco LeRoy Bassett who preceded her in death in 1956.
She was retired from Indiana & Michigan Electric Zco. as the Building Demonstrations Hostess. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alexandria.
Mildred is survived by two sons, Jerry (wife Georgia) Bassett, Alexandria, and Larry (wife Lonita) Bassett, Muncie. One sister Mary Bell (husband Raph) Cooper, Sanibel, Fla. Also, surviving are five grandchildren, Steve (wife Amy) Bassett, Susan (husband Patrick) Helfrich, Greg(wife Kris) Bassett Muncie, Tim (wife Gail) Alexandria, Chris (wife Alexis) Bassett Alexandria, and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov, 20 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Richardson officiating. Burial followed at Park View Cemetery, Alexandria. Visitation was at the Whetsel Funeral Service, Wednesday, Nov 19 from 4 to 7 p.m.
