Mrs. Hattie Molloy, 81, a resident of Corsicana since 1871, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Thames, 206 South Twelfth street shortly after noon Saturday, and funeral services are planned at the Sutherland-McCammon funeral chapel at 420 West Sixth avenue at five o'clock Sunday afternoon, with interment in Oakwood cemetery.
Mrs. Molloy was born in Wilcox county, Alabama, Oct. 1, 1856, and came to Corsicana with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry McCammon in November, 1871. On August 28, 1879, she was married to the late R. B. Molloy, to which union three children were born, one of which died in infancy.
Surviving are two children, D. Molloy and Mrs. Thames, both of Corsicana; three grandchildren, Mrs, Henry Alvin, Mrs, Phil Upton of Kermit, and Miss Harriett Thames of Corsicana and a number of nieces and nephews.
She joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church as a young lady, and was active in work of the church for many years.
Pallbearers will be J. M. McDaniels, Roy Thompson, Will Thompson, B. T. Delahay, Cecil Foster and H. R. Smalley.
Honorary pallbearers will be officers of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. Sutherland-McCammon Funeral Home will have charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Molloy was one of the best-loved women in Corsicana and up until a few years ago, when the infirmities of age and failing health forced her to curtailher activities, she went about dong good in a quiet and unostentatious way and there are many in Corsicana who can testify to her great goodness and charitableness.
