Ruby May Bly, 91, died Wednesday,Oct.15,2003 in Corpus Christi,Texas.
She was born Dec.11,1911 in Shawnee to John Thomas McCannon and Ella Mae Hembree McCammon.
She graduated in 1932 from Central State College in Edmond with a baachelor of arts degree in education. She taught in Checotah.
She was married Oct.8,1937 to Douglass Arthur Bly. After living in Oklahoma towns of Prague, Stigler, Watonga,Guymon and Edmond, they moved to Stillwater in 1955.
For several years she worked with student registration at Okllahoma State University. In 1995, she moved to Corplus Christi where she lived until her death.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Doug of Stillwater, two sons, Douglass Arthur Bly,Jr.(Diane) of Beliflower, Calif, Lawrence Allen Bly(Sharon) of Glencoe; daughter, Sylvia Eileen (David) Helpenstell of Sandia, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Bergquist of Wichita, KS and Jewell McCammon of Elizzabeth Town, Kentucky; grandchildren, Michael(Caroline) Dobson, Mark Dobson, Stephanie Dobson, Keith Helpenstell, Terri Helpenstell and Barry Forrest and dear friend Anita Santellana.
