Highly Esteemed Lady Dead
Passes Away After Many Weeks of Painful Illness
January 28, 1859 - April 1, 1917

Mrs. Sallie M. McCammon, aged 61 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.T. Wareing, yesterday after a long and painful illness. The remains were interred in Oakwood this afternoon, the funeral taking place from the Wareing home at 4 o'clock. Rev. Charles Oberschmidt and J.W. Fort officiated, and the following were pall -bearers: active, Walter Burgess, G.E. Mitchell, J.G. Comfort, J.W. Shirey, J.C. Hughes and E.G. Davidson; honorary, E.A. Johnson W.A. Mowlan, W.G. Baker, J.M. (name missing). Surviving the deceased are her two daughters, Mrs. E.T. Wareing and Mrs. J.V. McDaniel; three sisters, Mrs. B.G. Harris, Mrs. G.B. Sutherland, and Mrs. J.E. Sharp; and two brothers, R.L. and Ed Bird. The deceased was reared here and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. The funeral this afternoon was largely attended and there was a beautiful display of floral offerings.
