Willivene H. Futcher, 79, of Main Street, Bruin, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in Mars at the Worthington at Adams, where she had been a resident for the past two years.
Born July 14, 1924, near Curllsville in Clarion County, she was a daughter of William H. and Myrna Alice Bashline McCall.
She attended the Curllsville School. Mrs. Futcher was of the Methodist faith. She was a Democratic committeewoman in Bruin Borough for a number of years and enjoyed bowling, flower gardening and square dancing. She was a member of the Ladies Garden Club.
She was first married on May 18, 1944, in Clarion, to Robert Grier Downs, who preceded her in death June 16, 1955. She was then married on April 5, 1957, in Saegertown to Harry Ralph Futcher, who preceded her in death Aug. 20, 1992.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Robert G. and Kathy Downs of Wetumpka, Ala., Tracy R. and Tammie Futcher of Karns City and Joseph W. and Ronda Futcher of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Pamela L. Parks of New Castle and Debra K. Davis and her husband, Larry, of Saxonburg; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Roberta Yeany and her husband, William, of Shippenville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, William "Buck" McCall, in 1954.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Petrolia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Mrs. Futcher's nephew, the Rev. Robert Myers, officiating. Private interment will be in Clarion Cemetery.
