| Birth: | Jun. 11, 1838 Pennsylvania, USA | | Death: | Mar. 13, 1908 Clarion County Pennsylvania, USA | Son of immigrants, Robert & Hannah (McGarrah) McCall.
Husband of Rebecca Jane Knox.
W. A. McCall, one of the prominent citizens of Perry township, died at his home March 13, aged 69 years, 9 months and 2 days, after an illness of three years caused by a fractured leg from the kick of a horse. During all this period he was confined to his bed, but was always patient and uncomplaining. Mr. McCall was the 15th chil of a family of 16. He was born June 11, 1838 and was raised and has always lived on the farm owned by his father, Robert McCall Sr., who was one of the pioneers of Western Pennsylvania. One brother, Robert McCall Jr., of Oklahoma, and one sister, Mrs. Wm. Stewart, formerly of Cherry Run, survive. He was married to Miss Rebecca Knox, and 7 children blessed this union, 6 of whom survive, as follows: Miss Myrtle, at home; Mrs. W. H. Kennedy, Oblong, Ill., Addison, Chase, Oklahoma; Mrs. Thomas Hartman, Primrose, PA; Melvin B., at home, and Clyde, of Oklahoma. His wife died a number of years ago, leaving him to fight life's battles with the motherly help of Miss Myrtle. Deceased was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church, a man who kept his own counsel, generous to a fault and just in all his dealings with his fellow man. By his death the community loses a good citizen and a true friend. The family has the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were conducted at Concord church by Rev. Blacker on Monday afternoon, March 16, and interment was made in the cemetery at that place. Clarion Democrat, 26 Mar 1908
