The Democratic Watchman, Bellefonte, PA, Fri., Jan. 14, 1876.
McCaffrey – On Friday morning last, the 7th instant, Mr. John McCaffrey, of this place, aged about 70 years.
The death of Mr. McCaffrey was very sudden, and not at all expected. He retired to bed the evening before, in his usual good health. About three or four o’clock in the morning, Miss Annie McCaffrey, his eldest daughter, heard him coughing, and, going to his room, tried to open the door. It was fastened and she could not get in, and the old gentleman was not able to open it for her. She then went around and entered the back window, when she found her father in a dying condition. She alarmed the family and retained possession of his consciousness until the last. He died about four o’clock, surrounded by his shocked and weeping household. None but the female members of the family were present, both the sons, Patrick and Larry, being resident of distant towns.
Mr. McCaffrey came to this place from Mifflin county many years ago, and was an honest and worthy citizen, and a kind husband and parent. He was the father of Mr. Patrick McCaffrey, formerly a boot and shoe manufacturer here and not an extensive dealer in Lock Haven. Miss Annie McCaffrey one of the teachers here in our public schools, is his eldest daughter, and he has left a number of other children. Full of years and loved and honored by his family, and respected by the community, he has gone from earth, we trust to find rest and is now life in happier and brighter land. Peace to his ashes.
The remains of the deceased were buried in the Catholic cemetery in this place, being attended to the grave by a large concourse of people.

Daughter Eliza:
The Daily Democrat, Clinton County, PA, Sat., Nov. 3, 1888.
A Good Woman.
Miss Eliza McCaffrey, of Bellefonte, who died a few days since, was a sister of Mr. P. McCaffrey, of this city. The lady is thus warmly praised by the Democratic Watchman:
“Eliza McCaffrey, who died on Tuesday last of exhaustion, was a woman who was generally known and respected, but it is her personal friends that the loss can never be made good. She lived a life so quiet and modest that even to speak of her here publicly seems wrong. An invalid from birth, her life had not many bright sides, but with a character so lovely, patient, and faithful that each day of her life was a benefit and a lesson to those with whom she came in contact. Miss McCaffrey, who teaches in the public schools, and was a devout member of the Catholic Church.”

Daughter Bridget hasn't been located as of yet. One of the daughters may have been married to an Elmer, as there is an Andrew Elmer, grandson, living with Bridget and daughters in 1880. Bridget's marriage record follows:
Catholic Vital Records of Central PA, Vol. IV, p. 392, No. 8485, Josiam Burden, non Catholic, m. May 25, 1863 Bridget McCaffrey, witness Laurentio (Lawrence) McCaffrey and his wife Ellen Garrity, JCG, at Lock Haven, Immaculate Conception Church.
