In 1880 she, her parents, her six siblings, and 66-year-old John McCachren lived on a farm in East Wheatfield Township, Indiana County, PA.

In 1900 she and her mother and three siblings--Francis, George, and Margaret--lived there on the farm, which they owned, mortgage free.

In 1910 she and her husband and their three children lived in a place they were renting at 112 1/2 Main Street in Franklin, PA. He worked as a laborer on shears in a steel mill.

In 1920 she and Albert and their four children lived in a house they owned, mortgage free, at 176 Cooper Avenue in Johnstown, PA. He worked as a roller in a plate mill.

In 1930 she, her husband, three of their children (all but William), and her mother lived their. Their home was valued at $4000, and they did have a radio.

In 1940 she and Albert and their two youngest children lived there. Their home was valued at only $2300 after the Great Depression. He and Kenneth both worked as mill hands in a steel mill, he with an income in 1939 of $2000 for 39 weeks of work, and Kenneth of $1600 for 26 weeks of work.
