AnnaMay Christensen,of Astoria, was born to Albert Edward and Velma Angeline (Peterson) McBride. She was raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

On Nov. 25, 1950, she married Nethaneel Christensen in South Bend, Wash. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1996.

Mrs. Christensen came to the Clatsop County area from Idaho in 1939. She worked in the school lunch program at Central Elementary School and Gray Elementary School in Astoria. She also worked for 18 years at Columbia Memorial Hospital as a diet aide.

Family members said her hobbies included baking, decorating, crocheting, reading and flowers. She loved watching birds.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terence A. Christensen and Ronald E. and Debbie Christensen of Astoria; a daughter and son-in-law, Marlyce L. Litwin and Vincent Engbretson of Astoria; a sister-in-law, Marian McBride of Astoria; five grandchildren, Ryan M. Christensen and Kerry Christensen of Warrenton, Tanya A. Christensen of Long Beach, Wash., and Andrew E. Litwin and Thomas E. Christensen of Astoria; four great-grandchildren, Chelsea Christensen of Astoria, Carson Litwin of Ontario, and Trey and Trinity A. Atkins of Warrenton; and four nieces, Janine Nelson, Suzanne Johnson, Kathy Isom and Charlene McBride, all of Astoria.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles A. and Walter E. McBride.
