Funeral services for Larkin Estel McBride, 77, of West were held Friday, October 9 at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Art Slatten officiated with interment in the Mt. Pleasant Church cemetery.

Mr. McBride, a native of Holmes County, died Wednesday, October 7at the Methodist Hospital of Middle Mississippi in Lexington.

He was a retired barber and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at West.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sibyl Ray McBride of West; one son, Bennie J. McBride of Woodville, Texas; a foster son, John Ray of West; two daughters, Mrs. Delaine Shands of Southaven, and Mrs. Lenora Watkins of Ethel; a foster daughter, Mrs. Anna Ray Spencer of West; two brothers, Willie Martin McBride and Roger McBride, both of West, 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Charles Edwin McBride, Allen McBride, Johnny McCrory, Bobby Martin, Bill Martin and Henry McBride.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard Ellis, Joe Bailey McCreary, John McCreary, Malcolm Welch, Leslie Wright, Audis Hathcock, and Jack Martin.
