|Death: ||Aug., 1891|
Daniel married Dorcas Burks Jan 8, 1822 in Mercer County, Kentucky. In 1828 they moved to the Mill Creek area along the county line between Putnam County and Hendricks County, Indiana.
Daniel had an outcropping of limestone on his farm, which he quarried. Limestone was not available on every farm, so he made lime not only for his own use, but for sale to others as well. Lime was used with sand to make mortar for building stone chimneys, brick houses, and for plastering frame and brick houses.
Daniel and Dorcas had 7 children:
William A, born about 1822
Daniel Harris, born Nov 1824
Louisa, born 1827
Samuel M, born 1830
George B, born 1834
Louvica, born 1838
Loutisha, born 1841
