She was born Dec 25, 1800 in Kentucky. I believe she was the daughter of George and Rhoda Burks. She's not mentioned in George's will, but she fills a slot in George's 1810 census and George Burks posted the bond for her marriage to Daniel J McAninch in Mercer County, Kentucky on Jan 8, 1822

In 1828 Dorcas and Daniel moved to the Mill Creek area along the county line between Putnam County and Hendricks County, Indiana.

They had 7 children:
William A, born about 1822
Daniel Harris, born Nov 1824
Louisa, born 1827
Samuel M, born 1830
George B, born 1834
Louvica, born 1838
Loutisha, born 1841

They farmed there until Dorcas died Nov 27, 1881.
