He died at St. Marys Health Center.
McAboy was a son of the Rev. Thomas and Emma R. McAboy. His mother survived in Prichard, Ala. He was married Feb. 14, 1973, in Columbia to Maurine A. Harper, who survived in the home.
He was a 1968 graduate of Blount High School in Prichard, and attended Lincoln University.
An annuity and retirement sales representative for Holden Financial Investment Company of Overland Park, Kans., he also worked for the Department of Corrections in Jefferson City.
He was a deacon of the Second Baptist Church, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the Prince Hall Masons and the Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice.
Other survivors included: one son, Clayton E. McAboy, and one daughter, Morgan A. McAboy, both of Jefferson City; two brothers, Thomas McAboy, Prichard, and Reginald Wilson, Mobile; two sisters, the Rev. Linda Arthur, Monessa, Pa., and the Rev. Johnetta Wilson, Whistler, Ala.
