Marianna (Mazzanti) Grassini, 98, of 121 Forest Park Ave., died Sunday at Baystate Medical Center. She worked at the former East Longmeadow Pharmacy for many years, and retired in 1975. She was born in Pesaro, Italy, and moved to Springfield in 1920. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Women's Guild and the St. Ann Society in West Springfield. Her husband, Nazzareno Grassini, died in 1981, and a daughter, Yolanda Bongiovi, in 1985. She leaves a grandson, Charles E. Bongiovi, and granddaughter, Marlene Pepin, both of Wilbraham, with whom she lived; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday morning at Tazzini Funeral Home and the church, with burial in St. Michael' Cemetery . Calling hours are Thursday afternoon and evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the church renovation fund at 123 William St., Springfield, MA 01105.
